WWF Indonesia #TogetherPossible Campaign Educates Children About Wildlife Conservation
Jakarta. World Wildlife Fund Indonesia held an event to educate young children about endangered wildlife in Jakarta on Friday (25/11).
Taking place at the Galleries Lafayette in Pacific Place, South Jakarta, the event is part of a month-long campaign that allows children, their parents and other mall visitors to learn about earth’s biodiversity and threatened wildlife around the world, including in Indonesia.
Arctic species like penguins and polar bears, along with marine species like whales, sharks and turtles are displayed on the windows of the store, which also feature Indonesian wildlife such as orangutans, Sumatran tigers and rhinos.
"Kids and their parents can also take part in various weekend activities, including a 'Living Planet' storytelling session, coloring session, handicraft workshop and listening to Christmas carols," Galleries Lafayette marketing head Melissa Ann Tjahyadikarta said in a statement.
Visitors can also help plant a tree via a donation through WWF Indonesia's MyBabyTree program.
WWF Indonesia merchandise will also be available at the Galleries Lafayette, along with other goodies from local handicrafters. Part of the proceeds from the merchandise sale will go toward WWF Indonesia's conservation programs.
The Galeries Lafayette events are part of WWF Indonesia’s global campaign, #TogetherPossible, which focuses on nature conservation.
"#TogetherPossible is a WWF global campaign to get people around the world to help conserve natural and biological diversity," WWF Indonesia marketing director Devy Suradji said.
#TogetherPossible at Galeries Lafayette Jakarta will run until Dec. 25.
