Jakarta. An official from Corruption Eradication Commission, or KPK, has resigned from his post to compete in 2018 local government elections in West Java’s Bogor, a KPK official said on Friday (29/12).

Agus Rahardjo, head of KPK, said director of network development and internal cooperation Didie A. Rachim has resigned from the agency in order to prepare his candidacy for vice mayor for incumbent Bogor mayor Bima Arya Sugiarto in next year's election.

"KPK has approved his resignation and also support him to help maintain clean and free of KKN (corruption, collusion and nepotism) in Bogor," Agus said as reported by Suara Pembaruan.

Indonesia will hold local government elections in June next year in 17 provinces to elect governors, district chiefs and mayors.
