SRW&Co Partners with Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business on Asean Global Leadership Program
Jakarta. Jakarta-based management consulting firm SRW&Co is partnering with Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, or CKGSB, one of China's renowned business schools, to offer an executive education program in September.
Taking a theme: "Transforming Asean Organizations: Understanding China's Next Move," the upcoming Asean Global Leadership Program (AGLP) will be held over five days (from Sept. 16-20) at CKGSB's campus in Shanghai and Hangzhou, SRW&Co said in a joint statement on Wednesday.
As China takes a more active role in Southeast Asia, the firm said it is important for senior executives from the region to understand and predict China's next move in order to capitalize on economic opportunities. China is the world's second largest economy by nominal GDP and the world's most populous nation.
Globalization, Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Leadership are four key themes that will be delivered in the program that aims to attract company leaders, executives and business entrepreneurs.
Understanding China in a Globalized Era
Cheung Kong Business School program director and assistant, Dean Zhou Li, said innovation and digital technology have transformed China’s economy, and impacted businesses around the world.
"We wanted to reflect on these changes through this program by focusing on topics such as fintech, AI, and e-commerce, to help participating executives leverage Chinese opportunities in their global strategy, understand the impact of Chinese companies’ globalization on the Asean bloc, and grasp China’s latest innovations," Li said in the joint statement.
"CKGSB’s faculty and their research capabilities are considered among the best in the world focusing on China business. These professors – combined with our school’s more than 10,000 alumni, who lead one fifth of China’s most valuable brands – will offer AGLP participants the opportunity to learn first-hand the latest business trends in China and connect with some of China’s most successful business leaders."
Apart from having an opportunity to learn an intensive curriculum that covers critical business topics, participants will have a chance to have networking dinner with Chinese business people and undertake site visits to the office of giant conglomerate Alibaba Group.
"While the concept of globalization is under serious challenge, especially in the United States, regional economic ties between China and Southeast Asia have strengthened at an unprecedented pace," CKGSB’s founding dean and professor of China business and globalization, Xiang Bing said in the statement.
"The Asean Global Leadership Program in China has resumed at a pivotal moment in history as economic paradigms begin to shift. The program will help business leaders and government officials from Asean countries reevaluate their global strategy by understanding China in light of the country’s economic transformation and global geopolitical shifts."
"The AGLP China 2019 edition will leverage CKGSB’s seasoned faculty and extensive research capital to provide participants with deep, cutting-edge insights on China's global strategy, best practices in management and technology innovation, and the unique Chinese entrepreneurial leadership style and spirit," said Daniel Wong, chairman and partner of SRW&Co.
"The 5-day program provides a stimulating learning experience with an agenda consisting of classroom lectures, panel discussions and visits to leading Chinese companies. We look forward to welcoming Asean leaders to the AGLP China 2019 edition in Shanghai and Hangzhou," he said.
The AGLP was launched in 2009 via a strategic collaboration between SRW&Co with a consortium of global business schools in the United States, Europe and Asia. Its alumni comprise hundreds of top executives at the C-Suite and the Board level from both corporate as well as public sectors in Southeast Asia.
