Telkom President Monitors IT Infrastructure Ahead of Asian Games

Jakarta. Telkom president director Alex Sinaga on Wednesday (15/08) monitored the company's operations at the Gelora Bung Karno stadium in Jakarta, ahead of the Asian Games opening ceremony.

Alex said Telkom's infrastructure and telecommunications services were ready to support the games.

"For the success of the Asian Games, Telkom Group is committed to capacity and quality. The capacity to provide services to all our users, and the best quality," he said.

The company has installed 1,070 internet access points at all Asian Games venues and made 8,700 IndiHome units available to the games' athletes. Telkom has also deployed more than 260 additional base transceiver stations in Jakarta and Palembang, South Sumatra.

For the games, Telkom has installed a Games Management System (GMS) with a fiber optic wide area network.

The state-owned communications operator will have 2,700 staff members on duty around the clock during the event.
