Jakarta. Bombs rocked through three churches in Surabaya, East Java, on Sunday morning, killing at least two people, including a suicide bomber, and injuring 13 others, a police spokesman said.
The first blast occurred in front of Santa Maria Tak Bercela Catholic Church on Jalan Ngagel shortly after 7.00 a.m., killing the bomber and one church-goer. Two police guards on duty were also wounded, as well as 11 others, East Java Police Commissioner Frans Barung Mangera told reporters on the scene.
Bombs also went off at the Protestant Indonesian Christian Church on Jalan Diponegore and at a Pentecostal church in the city, Frans added, though casualty reports from those blasts have not yet been made public.
