Reza Rahadian Searches for His Lost Soulmate in Second Season of 'Halfworlds'
Jakarta. Actor Reza Rahadian said his return to the second season of HBO Asia original series "Halfworlds" as Demit Tony mainly revolves around a quest to find his soulmate, Ros.
Ros, played by Indonesian actor Tara Basro, made her appearance in the first season as a seductive, blood-thirsty Demit as they travel and hunt together.
Talking at a media gathering for "Halfworlds" in South Jakarta on Thursday (12/01), Reza said his character Tony has a clear main goal in the second season: to find Ros.
"Tony is a flamboyant character but this new season gives Tony more reason to show off his fighting skill. He has to go through numerous stages of fights so he can meet with this one character who can see the future, which will help him find Ros," he said.
Reza said he is happy with the new physical challenge given to him in the second season.
"Tony did not get to interact with most characters in the second season because he has set a goal for himself, and he is more emotional now," he said.
Reza and Arifin Putra are the only Indonesian actors to return for the second season of "Halfworlds" after the show took a different direction replacing director Joko Anwar with Ekachai Uekrongtham to helm all eight episodes.
"I really admire from Ekachai, I knew him from his movie 'Beautiful Boxer.' Ekachai is an agile and simple person. He is quite simple in directing his cast, maybe because he already knew how he would like this second season to look like," he said.
The second season of "Halfworlds" premieres Sunday, Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. on HBO Asia.
