2024 IISMA: 23 UPH Students Get to Study Abroad

Jakarta. As many as 23 students from Pelita Harapan University (UPH) got a scholarship to study overseas.
This scholarship program is part of the government’s 2024 International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA). The IISMA scholarship covers the registration fees, tuition, accommodation, allowance, plane tickets and visa, according to a press release. These awardees will begin studying abroad this year for a semester or equivalent to 20 Indonesian credit system (SKS).
“You will learn so many things. This is a golden opportunity for you to gain a new perspective. Use this opportunity to build as many networks as possible,” UPH rector Jonathan L Parapak was quoted as saying in a recent press statement.
IISMA awardee Angelia Kusuma Tanaya, a law student at UPH Surabaya, also talked about her hopes after getting a scholarship at the University of Western Australia. Angelia said: “I wish to learn more about law from a different perspective.”
UPH Medan’s Information Systems student Aurelya Hendra Qiu earned a scholarship to the National University of Singapore.
"In the IISMA process, UPH always made sure that I was ready in everything, such as taking care of documents and mental health. So, they have made sure that I am truly ready and healthy to study abroad and return with a stable mentality. I hope to return to Indonesia and have a better mindset, a wider and more diverse network, and be able to contribute to society and the surrounding area," said Aurelya.
Edrick Theodore, a visual communications design student at UPH Lippo Village Tangerang, also shared his experience in getting the IISMA scholarship. Edrick, who is going to Korea University, said: "IISMA is a very extraordinary program and I really want to know what it feels like to live and study abroad, and get to know a new culture.”
