A Time Machine to Return to the ‘90s
A time machine is still yet to be discovered, but Casio has successfully turned back time to the ‘90s with their launch of their GA-140.
When you think about the ‘90s, you are reminded of the time you were bobbing your head to the old hits on a boombox. With the year about to end, Casio decided to walk us down the memory lane with a nostalgic touch of their new retro-themed friend.
The GA-140 may still have inherited the large strap and shell of its predecessors -- the GA-100 and GA-110 series. However, the appeal of this new retro timepiece lies in its striking resemblance to the ‘90s music players. The watch displays a more in-depth dial that is parallel to two round digital panels whose models are inspired by the speakers of the ‘90s hit boomboxes. The LCD screen surrounding the clock and minute hands is also reminiscent to a retro digital gadget.
Although the watch may have gone back in time with its design, it packs a punch with its numerous dials for your time-keeping needs. At 3 o’clock, a 1/1000-second stopwatch is displayed with an abundance of chronographic abilities such as elapsed time, split time and lap time. The retro timepiece also features a digital dial at 12 o’clock for a quicker look at time. With a date dial at 6 o’clock, you need not to worry of ever missing a party.
Alongside the ‘90s groove, the watch still retains the G-SHOCK’s renowned strength. With its shock resistance and water resistance of up to 200 meters, this retro friend still stands to the test of time. Packed with an LED light, you will never lose track of time even in the dark.
Moreover, this time machine comes in five color variants -- black, blue, red-gray, violet as well as black with red and orange accents. Following its official launch, the watch is now sold at a retail price of Rp 2.08 million at Casio official stores and islands across Indonesia.
