APR Teams Up with Six Fashion Brands at Muslim Fashion Festival MUFFEST+

Jakarta. Asia Pacific Rayon (APR), a leading producer of sustainable viscose-rayon fiber, partnered with six local fashion brands at the Muslim Fashion Festival (MUFFEST)+ 2024, held from August 8-11 at Istora Senayan Stadium in Jakarta.
The collaboration, under the theme "Redefining Fashion for a Better Future," featured 60 collections from APR-sponsored brands, all made with APR’s sustainable viscose-rayon fiber. The six participating brands -- Batik Trusmi, Sritex, Siti Khadijah, Aruna Creative, Larusso, and Cotton in Lace -- showcased their unique designs while drawing inspiration from Indonesia's rich cultural and natural heritage.
"This partnership underscores our commitment to fostering a sustainable fashion industry in Indonesia by using eco-friendly materials. It represents our effort to support a better fashion ecosystem and position Indonesia as a global hub for modest fashion," APR President Director Basrie Kamba said in a statement on Sunday.
Aruna Creative highlighted the Oling Wuyung collection, inspired by traditional Malay attire, featuring kebaya and the loose-fitting Baju Kurung, with natural dyes used in the process. Sritex presented daily dresses that combined modern styles with traditional batik patterns. Batik Trusmi drew inspiration from Indonesia’s natural landscapes as seen in the works of legendary artist Raden Saleh. Larusso showcased 10 collections in neutral and earthy tones inspired by sedimentary rocks and roots, while Cotton in Lace introduced the Terra Serenity collection, promoting simplicity with elegance. Siti Khadijah displayed a collection of women’s prayer dresses made from viscose-rayon fiber.

APR’s viscose-rayon fiber, known for its softness and breathability, is particularly suited to the modest fashion industry in tropical climates like Indonesia. The fiber is biodegradable, making it an ideal choice for sustainable fashion, and can be blended with cotton and spandex to meet diverse needs.
Organized by the Indonesia Fashion Chamber, the Muslim Fashion Festival+ 2024 aims to establish Indonesia as a center for the global modest fashion industry by bringing together stakeholders to enhance the ecosystem. The event, themed "Flying to The Global Market," featured over 150 designers and hosted a trade show with more than 200 participants, including fashion brands.
“MUFFEST+ is designed to strengthen Indonesian modest fashion in global markets. The festival has supported local brands in their journey to becoming international players,” said Lenny Agustin, the national chair of the Indonesia Fashion Chamber.
During MUFFEST+ 2024, APR also showcased its sustainable viscose-rayon fiber through a booth featuring the "Everything Indonesia" collections in collaboration with brands like Batik Trusmi, Sritex, Siti Khadijah, Aruna Creative, Larusso, Cotton in Lace, Elita, Gajah Duduk, and Kamila Wardrobe.
