Astra Shows Support for Tech Entrepreneurs at the Indonesianisme Summit 2019

Jakarta. Astra International attends the "Indonesianisme Summit 2019" forum once again this year.

In a press release the company said it joined the summit to support local tech entrepreneurs compete in the global market. Astra International held a forum titled "Memanggungkan Teknopreneur Indonesia" ("Putting Indonesian Tech Entrepreneurs on the Stage"), aimed to inspire passion for technology and improve the country's manufacturing industry.

The event was attended by Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, Head of the National Agency for Food and Drug Control (BPOM), Penny Lukito, head of ITB Alumni Association, Ridwan Djamaluddin, Astra chief of corporate affairs, Pongki Pamungkas, and Astra deputy chief of corporate affairs, Riza Deliansyah.

Astra's chief of corporate affairs Pongki Pamungkas said that the event is very important in order to raise the competitiveness of Indonesian companies in the advent of global competition. 

"The 'Indonesianisme' passion goes hand-in-hand with Astra’s goal to prosper alongside the nation," Pongki said in the release on Aug. 13.

Astra showcased a "mechanical and multipurpose village tool" and an artificial intelligence development kit at the event. Astra also introduced the finalists of its Startup Challenge 2018. 

The company currently has 75 startups under incubation through the program, supported by the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises. 

Astra also held a discussion session discussing the readiness of Indonesia's youth in the global digital era, inviting Astra's head of corporate communications, Boy Kelana Soebroto, and Astra's director of Astra digital, Kemas Henry, who spoke about digitizing businesses.
