BNI Ready to Make Indonesia 4.0 at Hannover Messe

Jakarta. State-owned bank BNI is joining the 2023 Hannover Messe in Germany and the company is ready to make Indonesia 4.0.
Indonesia is an official partner country at this year's edition of Hannover Messe. Indonesian state-owned enterprises, including BNI, are joining Europe’s largest industrial fair as co-exhibitors.
BNI president director Royke Tumilaar expressed the bank's readiness to support Indonesia 4.0 with its digital banking ecosystem. BNI has Agen46, an extension of the bank, deployed in remote areas to make it easier for locals, including micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) owners, to make transactions. This includes account opening, cash withdrawal, transfer, bill payment to micro loans application.
"BNI also has the Xpora program which helps MSMEs to boost its business capabilities to international level. As more MSMEs export their products abroad, the need for labor will also increase," Royke said.
BNI's overseas branches also play a key role in the Xpora program. Today, BNI has branches in Singapore, Hongkong, Tokyo, Osaka, New York, Seoul, London, and Amsterdam. These branches are not only offering international banking products and services. They also become mediators in the business matching between Indonesian MSMEs and their potential buyers abroad, be it from the diaspora segment or local businesses.
"BNI's network of overseas branches is ready to be the gateway for foreign direct investment into Indonesia. We hope the 2023 Hannover Messe becomes an opportunity to open up cooperation between BNI and various international parties," Royke said.
The 2023 Hannover Messe will run from April 17 to April 21. Indonesia has picked "Making Indonesia 4.0" as its exhibition theme.
According to President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo, Indonesia is now embracing two strategies: downstream industry and green economy.
"We are very open for investment and cooperation to build Indonesia's downstream industry," Jokowi said when kicking off the 2023 Hannover Messe over the weekend.
