Jakarta. B-Universe Media Holdings officially inked a memorandum of understanding with the State University of Malang on Friday.

Under this agreement, B-Universe will help promote the State University of Malang, also known by its acronym UM. The partnership will also encompass campus hiring, student and lecturer internships, job fairs, and guest lecture programs. Both sides will work on a follow-up agreement after this signing.

B-Universe is a media group made of several publications, namely Beritasatu.com, The Jakarta Globe, Investor.id, Investor Daily, as well as TV networks BTV and IDTV.

According to UM’s rector Hariyono, this partnership is part of the university’s effort so the campus is not isolated from the current business and technology dynamics.

“Hopefully, the UM family can go public. So we can publish our research and thoughts as part of our contribution to this nation and the world,” Hariyono said.

B-Universe’s executive chairman Enggartiasto Lukita said that the partnership became proof that UM could contribute to the nation’s development.

“Us, media, would like to help bridge the academia and the industry,” Enggartiasto said.

Through this partnership, B-Universe is open to students who wish to work in the media industry to help uphold democracy, according to Enggartiasto. He added: “The students need to make the most out of this partnership. We will open up a learning lab as big as possible for UM students. Learning should not only be limited to the classrooms.”
