Jakarta. The Industry Ministry recently awarded Chandra Asri Pacific (Chandra Asri Group) the National Lighthouse Industry 4.0.

This award reinforces Chandra Asri Group's position as a benchmark role model in digital transformation for industry players in similar sectors. The award also aligns with the government’s goal of readying Indonesia for Industry 4.0.

This initiative targets seven key industrial sectors -- food and beverage, textiles, automotive, chemicals, electronics, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals—which collectively account for 70 percent of the industrial GDP, 65 percent of industrial exports, and 60 percent of the industrial workforce in Indonesia.

"The digital transformation implemented by Chandra Asri Group is one of our core strategic pillars, alongside sustainability and exponential growth, through programmatic M&A and organic expansion. This transformation involves the application of cutting-edge digital technologies such as the internet of things (IoT), blockchain technology, supply chain automation, and robotic process automation (RPA) in our business processes and manufacturing operations to enhance efficiency, productivity, customer service and overall competitiveness,” Chandra Asri Group chief financial officer Andre Khor was quoted as saying in a recent press statement.

“Moving forward, Chandra Asri Group is committed to continuous innovation and enhancing our technological capabilities to remain a growth partner for strategic industries domestically," Khor said.

The National Lighthouse Industry 4.0 award acknowledges companies that have excelled in implementing Industry 4.0 in their operations.

At Chandra Asri Group, the digital transformation process is divided into two phases. The first phase, which took place from 2019 to 2023, focused on the application of digital technology in business processes and manufacturing operations.

The second phase, starting from 2024 to 2026, will concentrate on modernizing enterprise resource planning (ERP) infrastructure and leveraging automation, big data analytics, and other industry best practices to enhance competitiveness and data quality.

With a focus on innovations such as advanced process control, machine learning, and advanced linear programming, the company continues to optimize its operational processes.

Through this ongoing transformation, Chandra Asri Group has experienced significant improvements in plant reliability, reduced maintenance costs, human capital development, as well as increased business performance.
