Job Creation Law Task Force Hosts Workshop on Easier Licensing

Jakarta. The Job Creation Law Task Force recently held a workshop related to easier permit processing for Bandung’s entrepreneurs.
According to the task force’s secretary Arif Budimanta, the law seeks to facilitate investment activities be it by state-owned enterprises or people-owned businesses, including micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). The law encourages the use of an integrated licensing process through what the government calls the online single submission (OSS) system. Arif also encouraged entrepreneurs to give inputs for the Job Creation Law.
“While the law was formed by the president, we also wish to get feedback from all levels,” Arif said.
Task Force’s head for strategy working group Dimas Oky Nugroho said people could submit any suggestion or criticism regarding the policy on social media @satgasciptakerja. Dimas said: “We will use any input for our analysis to further improve the regulations or the implementation.”
Merry Ruslina Ambarina, a drafter at the Tourism Ministry, said that tourism licensing could now only be done via the OSS system, making it easier for entrepreneurs. However, the 2021 ministerial regulation on the standards for risk-based business licensing for the tourism sector still needs improvement. Delfinur Rizky, an official at the investment deregulation directorate, said that issuance of the business identification number (NIB) had been easier since the Job Creation Law’s entry into force.
"As of today, there have been 7.53 million NIBs issued, with most of them issued in West Java with micro and small business projects," Rizky said while adding that the investment trend had also gone up and even exceeded the target of up to $14,000.
The Job Creation Law also enabled free halal certification, easier licensing for individual companies, and a partnership system between larger businesses and MSMEs.
Riswandi, who spoke on behalf of the West Javan chamber of Indonesia’s business lobby Kadin, gave some inputs. Riswandi hoped that the task force could further promote the licensing process to the local governments, as well as for the revisions to the 2021 government regulation on the risk-based licensing system to be completed soon.
Arif Budimanta said the revisions would soon be completed, while also promising to intensify the communications with the sub-national governments.
"What is important for business actors is that procedures and prices are clear so that the task force is committed to accommodating the aspirations of the community and conveying them to the relevant ministries and government bodies,” Arif said.
