Jakarta. Laras Hati Mangkunegaran, which featured some of Indonesia's top artists, recently called on its audience to embrace the country's culture.

The concert, which marked the 268th anniversary of Mangkunegaran, took place in the iconic Pamedan Mangkunegaran, Surakarta over the weekend. This event was also a joint effort between Mangkunegaran, Katadata, Yayasan DNC. State-run oil and gas firm Pertamina had also backed this event which sought to be a fresh way of presenting Indonesian culture. Popular musicians such as Kunto Aji, Bernadya, Maliq & D'Essentials, and Souljah performed in front of a huge crowd.

Andikha, the director of Sisiplus by Katadata, said that the Laras Hati Mangkunegaran was an embodiment of synergy between public space, culture, and creative industry.

"This is not just a music concert, but a momentum to strengthen the relationship between the younger generation and their cultural roots. We believe that spaces like this are important to continue to be presented, so that traditions are not only remembered, but also revived in ways that are relevant and interesting for the current generation," Andikha said at Pamedan Mangkunegaran over the weekend.

By participating in this event, Katadata also seeks to appreciate Indonesia's historical and cultural values -- all of which are pivotal to the nation's journey.

"The presence of modern music combined with the spirit of local culture shows that the past and the present can strengthen each other. Hopefully, this spirit can continue to resonate and inspire an inclusive and sustainable cultural movement," Andikha said.

Pertamina's vice president for corporate communication Fadjar Djoko Santoso also welcomed the event as a joint effort to preserve Indonesian culture.

"Traditions like this are important so that the younger generation continues to know, love, and continue the nation's cultural heritage," Fadjar said.

To this end, Pertamina offers various promos to the Laras Hati Mangkunegaran concertgoers via its MyPertamina app. This included a buy 1, get 1 free promo for those who buy the concert tickets. People could also win the tickets at the giveaway program available on @mypertamina Instagram account. Pertamina also offered a trade-in promo during the event by enabling visitors to exchange their 3-kilogram liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for a 5.5-kilogram or 12-kilogram Bright Gas.
