Lippo Plaza Bogor Opens Covid Vaccination Site for Retail Workers

MARCH 29, 2021

Jakarta. Shopping center Lippo Plaza Ekalokasari in Bogor is hosting a Covid-19 vaccination site for retail workers.

Lippo Plaza Ekalokasari Bogor is one of the 74 malls managed by Indonesia's largest mall operator Lippo Malls Indonesia (LMI) — thirty one of which are owned by Lippo Malls Indonesia Retail Trust (LMIRT). They are currently holding a vaccination service which is now open for retail workers with Bogor identity cards.

The vaccination site at Lippo Plaza Ekalokasari will open for two days (March 29-30). Recipients can get their Covid-19 jab on the second floor starting from 8.000 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. The vaccination site serves a capacity of more than 800 participants and will administer the shot to 1,500 retail workers.

The vaccination is in partnership with Bogor's Health Agency as well as the city's Industry and Commerce  Agency. The vaccinators are also medical workers from Siloam Hospitals Bogors along with two other hospitals and three public health centers.

With this vaccination site, Lippo Malls hopes to support the government reach their target of delivering one million shots a day.

According to Bogor's Vice Mayor Dedie Abdu Rachim, the vaccine rollout for retail workers would help rebuild people's confidence to shop at malls amid the pandemic.

"Especially with Ramadan approaching, people would no longer hesitate to visit a shopping mall as well as market because the retail workers and vendors have received the vaccine," Dedie said on Monday.

Lippo Plaza Ekalokasari Bogor mall director Henky Hiantoro said the vaccination is the first step to fight the pandemic and bolster national economic recovery, especially since the year-long pandemic has heavily impacted retail business.

"The vaccination for retail workers can rebuild business trust for retailers and inflict a positive impact for the national economy. [We hope that] visitors can comfortably visit the shopping mall as Ramadan and Eid-al-Fitr are just around the corner," Henky said.
