Jakarta. Paramount Land, the property business of Paramount Enterprise International, recently won an award that recognized the company’s compliance with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

Investor Daily, the business newspaper that is part of the B-Universe Media  Holdings, awarded Paramount Land at the recent 2023 ESG Awards dinner in Jakarta. Paramount Land’s award was in the ESG Recognized Commitment category. According to Paramount Land’s director for planning and design Henry Napitupulu, the award is a testament to the company’s commitment to implementing a sustainable business that not only brings a positive impact to the company but also the community near its operations.

“Implementing ESG principles will not only bring all sorts of positive impacts, but it will boost the confidence of consumers, stakeholders, and investors to invest in Paramount Land’s ESG-compliant products,” Henry said in Jakarta.

According to Henry, Paramount Land has pledged to support net zero emission by using environmentally-friendly materials for its raw materials, solar panels, PLN’s renewable energy certificate, as well as use of natural circulation and light on its buildings.

On the social front, Paramount Land regularly carries out corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs such as by distributing stable food and providing facilities to the communities living adjacent to its operations. The company also has community empowerment initiatives. Paramount Land also pays close attention to the issue of children’s health and education as its initiatives also include health check-ups, among others. They have held eyesight tests and also help provide glasses to those who need them. Other programs include school infrastructure renovations and the provision of facilities.

As for corporate governance, Paramount Land strictly monitors any fraud or corruption within the company.

"We have a whistleblowing system in an effort to instill a healthy and positive work culture, which in the long term will benefit not only internal employees but also the community," Henry said.
