Pegadaian Launches The Gade Creative Lounge at Top Indonesian Universities

Jakarta. Pawnshop Pegadaian has launched The Gade Creative Lounge (TGCL) at various top universities in Indonesia to support the creativity and innovation of the younger generation.
The Gade Creative Lounge is a modern facility designed to provide students with a space to collaborate, innovate, and develop creative ideas. It is equipped with meeting rooms, a stage center, disability-friendly areas, computer labs, and advanced technology, including smart TVs and sound systems. This lounge is expected to become a hub for creative activities and entrepreneurship among students.
The establishment of TGCL is part of the state-owned company's social and environmental responsibility program aimed at achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4, which focuses on quality education. To date, a total of 20 universities have adopted TGCL as an innovative ecosystem within their academic environments.
Pegadaian inaugurated a TGCL at Nusa Cendana University (Undana) in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara, on Friday, Oct. 18. The opening was attended by Damar Latri Setiawan, President Director of Pegadaian, and Prof. Maxs U. E. Sanam, Rector of Nusa Cendana University.
In his remarks, Damar Latri Setiawan said that The Gade Creative Lounge is Pegadaian's social responsibility to enhance education quality and create an innovation ecosystem for youth. "Through The Gade Creative Lounge, we aim to equip students with the space and facilities that inspire them to think creatively, take risks, and embark on entrepreneurial journeys early on, which can also be developed through The Gade Sociopreneurship Challenge, a social startup innovation program for students," Damar explained.
Meanwhile, Rector Sanam, expressed his gratitude to Pegadaian for this contribution. "We are very thankful to Pegadaian. Here in Kupang, we are a community that always strives for more. The presence of The Gade Creative Lounge will open up more opportunities for our students to achieve excellence. We hope this facility can be maximally utilized to generate creative ideas that bring positive change to society."
This facility supports students in preparing for the challenges of the digital and globalized era. With The Gade Creative Lounge, Pegadaian aims to continue being a strategic partner for universities in Indonesia, fostering an educational ecosystem that promotes innovation and creativity.
"We believe that the younger generation is the driving force for change. By providing them with space to create, we hope they can contribute even more to the future of the nation," Damar concluded.
