Tanoto Foundation Launches 2025 Batch for TELADAN Scholarship

Jakarta. Tanoto Foundation has officially opened the registration for the 2025 batch of its signature TELADAN scholarship program.

TELADAN -- short for “Transformasi Edukasi untuk Melahirkan Pemimpin Masa Depan" -- seeks to nurture future leaders.

"The TELADAN program is equipped with structured leadership training to equip Tanoto Scholars (the name for Tanoto Foundation scholarship recipients) with soft skills, leadership abilities, and various other essential abilities to support them in becoming impactful leaders in the future," Michael Susanto, the head of leadership development and scholarship at Tanoto Foundation, was quoted as saying in a press statement.

TELADAN itself is intended for regular undergraduate students who are in the first semester at 10 partner universities of the TELADAN program. They are IPB University, Bandung Institute of Technology, Brawijaya University, Diponegoro University, Gadjah Mada University, Hasanudin University, University of Indonesia, Mulawarman University, Riau University, and the University of North Sumatra.

Registration is now open and will end on Oct. 1. 

The selection process consists of three stages; namely administrative selection; leadership potential assessment; and interview. Click on this link to sign up for the scholarship.

In undergoing the TELADAN program for 3.5 years from semesters 2 to 8, Tanoto Scholars will receive several benefits, namely:

a) Leadership Development Support

Training that is designed in a structured and sustainable manner in 3 stages, covering new knowledge, self-development as a leader, project-based learning, and career development preparation.

b) TELADAN Development Circle Support

Support to participate in enrichment activities called the TELADAN Development Circle, which consists of:

  • Tanoto Scholars Association (TSA): a community/communication forum for Tanoto Scholars present at every Tanoto Foundation partner university

  • Pay it Forward Initiative: an opportunity to carry out social activities through TSA to provide a direct and sustainable positive impact to the surrounding community/society

  • Tanoto Scholars Gathering (TSG): an annual activity that brings together Tanoto Scholars from all partner universities to carry out self-development activities

  • Tanoto Student Research Award (TSRA): an annual activity in the form of financial support and research training for Tanoto Scholars

  • Internship: an opportunity for Tanoto Scholars to gain internship experience at the Tanoto Foundation or other industry partners

  • Sponsorship: additional financial support to participate in competitions, conferences, or competency development certifications both domestically and abroad

  • Global Experiences Program: an opportunity to gain global experience and build international networks through short-term programs domestically and abroad, such as summer courses, exchange programs, volunteering, and others

c) Tuition Fee Support and Living Allowance: Full tuition fee support (100%) and monthly allowance from semester two to semester eight.

d) Alumni Network in Indonesia and Worldwide: After graduating, Tanoto Scholars will join the alumni network of Tanoto Foundation scholarship recipients spread across various regions in Indonesia and other parts of the world. In the alumni network, in addition to being connected to inspire each other, there are also professional development and capacity-building activities in line with the needs of world development.

The requirements to register for the TELADAN Leadership Scholarship Program class of 2025 include:

  • Indonesian citizen.

  • Registered as a regular undergraduate student in the first semester at one of the partner universities of the TELADAN program.

  • Committed to participating in the leadership development program during the TELADAN Program (Semester 2 – Semester 8).

  • Demonstrate strong leadership potential and are committed to contributing to society and national development.

  • Fluent in Indonesian. Fluency in English and other languages will be a bonus.

  • Have academic achievements (minimum average grade of report card for Grade XII of SMA/SMK/MA is 8 out of a scale of 10) and non-academic achievements such as experience in student organizations, social communities, or other related matters.

  • Not currently receiving a scholarship or participating in a financial support program from another institution, and willing not to accept a scholarship or other financial program or similar leadership development program if selected for the TELADAN program.

From 2006 to 2023, the Tanoto Foundation scholarship program in Indonesia has benefited 8,338 students from partner universities throughout Indonesia.
