This Man Won A Brompton Bike from OVO's Raffle
Jakarta. Financial professional Eka Sianipar has recently won a Brompton bike, which is currently booming among Indonesian youths, from a raffle held by the Lippo-backed digital wallet OVO.
Eka won the British folding bike for using OVO for his everyday transactions.
Ever since the large-scale social restriction began, Eka has gone fully cashless with OVO.
He chose to use the e-wallet after reading the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended avoiding banknotes to prevent coronavirus transmission. He also found it helpful the e-wallet is already integrated to the food delivery service GrabFood and online marketplace Tokopedia.
"Because of this, I moved to OVO, be it for ordering food on GrabFood or shopping on Tokopedia," Eka said earlier this month.
During the pandemic, Eka and his family tend to shop online more as they do not leave their house as much. Eka would order lunch from GrabFood and once in a while shop for muaythai equipments and microphone at Tokopedia.
"Sometimes, I would pay using OVO for meals at the drive-thru," Eka said.
According to OVO corporate communication head Harumi Supit, the reward program, which lasted for the past two months, is a token of appreciation from the fintech company to its users.
"Hopefully, we can make shopping using OVO, Grab, and Tokopedia, more fun and rewarding," Harumi said.
OVO gave out prizes for 72 lucky winners. Among the prizes were six Brompton bikes, six units of iPhone 11, and OVO Cash worth of Rp 500,000 ($34) for 60 users. OVO also held a giveaway on their Instagram account by giving out 50 prizes which included nifty gadgets such as Macbook Air 2020, Playstation 5, and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold.
The fintech company is also commited to strengthen its digital ecosystem. They are also encouraging more people to shift to e-wallet for everyday transactions, Harumi said.
