This Small Company Boosts Export Markets Thanks to E-Commerce Platform

Jakarta. A small company in Semarang, Central Java, recorded its biggest volume of pineapple export on Friday with the help of B2B e-commerce platform Madeinindonesia.com.

For Tanaka Solution Agent, it’s for the first time it sold pineapples in a 40-foot container volume to Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

According to the plan, the export will be routinely carried out every week in the same volume through Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta.

"I feel very excited because so far I only export in small volume or in kilograms. But with the assistance of Madeinindonesia.com, the quality of my company is getting better until now I can export one container,” Tanaka founder and owner Husni Thamrin said in Jakarta.

He said the platform has previously organized virtual business meetings and opened access to foreign buyers.

"I feel Madeinindonesia.com is very helpful and right on target. We can have face-to-face meeting with direct buyers," Husni added.

"Apart from that, communication from Madeinindonesia.com with the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center [ITPC] in Dubai is well established, making it easier for exporters like me," Husni said.

Since its establishment in October 2019, Tanaka Solution Agent has sold various products to export markets. The company sells handicrafts, water hyacinth, wood crafts, organic rice, palm oil, coconut oil, fruits, herbs and spices.

Ilyas Bhat, CEO of Madeinindonesia.com, said his company will continue assisting Indonesian producers and exporters in opening up foreign markets to increase national exports. 

"Market access to foreign countries is very important in the midst of the current economic downturn," he said.

Ilyas added that his side is open to cooperation with various parties and offers assistance in export credits and procedures such as licensing and verification.
