Jakarta. Indonesia's men's badminton doubles pair Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo earned big praise from badminton legend Susi Susanti after they clinched a hat-trick of tournament wins at the 2017 Malaysia Open.

Marcus and Kevin had already won the 2017 All England and India Open before they beat China's Fu Haifeng and Zheng Siwei in rubber sets, 21-14, 14-21, 21-12, in the final in Malaysia on Sunday (09/04).

The pair's hat-trick was clinched in just four weeks, earning them massive compliments from badminton fans and experts.

"Marcus and Kevin are incredible, the opponents they've had to face have been relentless," 1992 Barcelona Olympic gold medalist Susi told the Indonesian Badminton Federation (PBSI) website on Monday.

The pair's win was the Indonesian contingent's only win in Malaysia. "It was our [PBSI] target to win a title in the men's doubles in Malaysia, and we did just that," Susi, who holds a technical position at PBSI, added.

Indonesia wants to dominate the men's doubles and mixed doubles in world badminton, according to Susi. "After the Malaysia Open, we'll evaluate our mixed doubles pairs. We want a new Liliyana Natsir and Tontowi Ahmad," she said.

Marcus and Kevin are looking to make it four wins in a row at the 2017 Singapore Open on April 11-16.
