Jakarta. The highly anticipated spatial computer gadget, Apple Vision Pro, has become available for preorder from unofficial vendors at local online stores and e-commerce platforms throughout Indonesia. Apple's virtual reality (VR) headset comes with a hefty price tag, surpassing Rp 70 million ($4,476).

Apple Vision Pro was launched in the United States on Feb. 2, at a starting price of $3,499 or approximately Rp 54.7 million.  As of now, the device is exclusively available in the US, and Apple has not disclosed any information regarding the global release date.

Local e-commerce stores have listed the Apple Vision Pro as available for pre-order and await shipment from the United States.

It's unclear whether the device will work in Indonesia.

Priced at $3,500, analysts anticipate that Apple may sell 1 million or fewer devices in its first year. Nevertheless, drawing from Apple's history, where the initial iPhone sales were around 4 million in the first year and have now surpassed 200 million annually, there is a track record of seemingly niche products becoming integral to people's lives and work.

Apple claims that over 600 newly designed apps will be readily available for use on the headset. These apps will cover a diverse range, including television networks, video streaming services (though Netflix and Google's YouTube are notably absent), video games, and various educational options. On the professional front, video conferencing services like Zoom, along with other companies providing online meeting tools, have developed apps for the Vision Pro as well.
