Jakarta. Chinese smartphone maker Oppo launched its latest flagship smartphone the Find X2 in Jakarta last week, marking its entry into the increasingly competitive market for premium handheld device in Indonesia.

The premium phone comes in two versions: the regular Find X2 and its higher capacity counterpart, the Find X2 Pro.

As premium phones, both versions of the Find X2 feature all-round capabilities: a high-performing chipset, great photo-taking quality and an eye-pleasing screen.

"Innovation in every aspect is important. We created a new standard for flagship smartphones in the 5G era by giving the ultimate visual, performance and design experience," Oppo Indonesia's chief executive, Ivan Lau, said during the phones' digital launch on Thursday.

Both models run on the latest Snapdragon 865 chipset, which supports 5G connectivity. They're also equipped with a curved 120 Hz QHD+ Amoled screen for a display that's easier on the eyes.

As camera quality becomes an ever more important consideration when choosing a smartphone, the new flagship adopts a triple-lens camera system with a 48MP wide-angle lens, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 13 MP telephoto lens for a 10x hybrid zoom.

The Pro model is packed with an additional customizable lens with a dual native ISO and an f/1.7 aperture for better images in low light.

The user interface of Oppo's newest operating system, the Android 10-based Color OS7, has been stripped down to provide a smoother system performance and stricter data security, particularly for mobile payments. The more reliable data protection may come in handy with the increasing trend of going cashless.

The recommended retail price for the Find X2, which comes in two colors – Dark Sea and Blue Wave – is Rp 15 million ($1,047). This regular model comes with a 12 GB RAM and 256 GB ROM.

The Rp 18 million Find X2 Pro comes in two different colors – Tea Orange and Dark Sea – with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB ROM.

Following the digital launch, Oppo Indonesia will offer hands-on experience for the phones at Pondok Indah Mall in Jakarta on March 19-22.
