Jakarta. Following the successful launch of its popular Vivo V5s smartphone in early May, Vivo Mobile Indonesia introduced a "pure white" limited edition at Raffles Hotel in South Jakarta on Thursday (08/06).

Known for its interesting advanced features for taking selfies, the Vivo V5s Pure White has taken design cues from the Vivo V5s. The design is simple, yet impressive, with a solid metal finish. A beautiful mandala pattern is also engraved on the back of the phone, creating a more elegant, youthful look.

Vivo brand manager Edy Kusuma said the phone is only available in white to "adopt the theme of the holy month" of Ramadan.

Amid the selfie craze, the Vivo V5s Pure White is equipped with a 20-megapixel front camera, paired with the latest technology that allows users to capture bright selfie pictures even in low light.

In contrast with the V5s, the V5s Pure White is equipped with a bokeh mode – a feature no other smartphone model on the market currently offers. Bokeh is a photographic term referring to photos with a very shallow depth of field. The feature allows users to capture photos with the subject in sharp focus, while the background is blurred. This effect adds a more professional finish.

Designed for young and active users, the phone comes with the Smart Split 2.0 feature, which allows users to multitask. This can also be used with apps such as video streaming, Facebook, Line, YouTube, movies and TV, and the VLC media player for Android.

"We want to provide our customers with best-quality and fun products that can make their lives more efficient," Edy said.

Not only that, the V5s Pure White comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera supported by phase detection autofocus technology.

In line with the spirit of Ramadan, Vivo Indonesia will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the new model to Sahabat Anak, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing underprivileged children with educational opportunities.

Edy said Vivo Indonesia will donate Rp 100,000 ($7.25) from the sale of every V5s Pure White smartphone to Sahabat Anak.

"We want to celebrate the holy month with a positive event and share this happiness with others," he said.
