Bali Police Detain Three Indonesians Deported From Turkey
Jakarta. The National Police's counterterrorism unit Densus 88 in Bali has detained three Indonesian nationals who were deported from Turkey for purported involvement with the Islamic State militant group.
The three are 20-year old A.R. with a passport issued by the Karawang Immigration Office in West Java and 48-year old B.S.I.R. with his 17-year old daughter Z.Z.G. from Tasikmalaya, West Java.
They were detained at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Friday (21/04), at around 9.40 p.m. local time.
"Immigration officers handed them over to Densus 88 in Bali for further investigation," Bali Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Adj. Hengky Widjaja said in Denpasar on Sunday.
Hengky said that the three left Indonesia on March 28.
B.S.I.R. claimed that he was taking his daughter and A.R., who according to him were married in December, for a honeymoon in Turkey.
Unable to present any documents confirming the marriage, the three were detained for 20 days, after which the authorities decided to deport them.
