Jakarta. Lion Air Group's full-service airline unit Batik Air has launched a new route from Jakarta to Guilin, a city in southern China, from Halim Perdanakusuma International Airport in East Jakarta on Saturday (26/08).
The new flight will depart from Jakarta at 3 a.m. and from Guilin at 10:10 a.m.
"As Lion Air Group has a vast connectivity of domestic routes, foreign tourists from Guilin who arrive and want to go to various cities in Indonesia can still continue [their journey] by using our airline, whether [via] Batik Air or Wings Air," Andy M. Saladin, a public relations manager at Lion Air Group, said on Thursday.
Batik Air has a fleet of 49 aircraft and operates 37 domestic routes and several international routes to Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and India.
The carrier operates more than 250 flights per day, offering full-services including an in-flight meal and in-flight entertainment in each class.
Andy hopes the new route will be able to cater to foreign tourists who want to visit Indonesia which will also help Indonesia's economy grow.
