Film Festival Offers Cinematic Experience by Lake Toba
Jakarta. Lake Toba Film Festival will be held near Lake Toba in Samosir, North Sumatra, on Dec. 1-3.
The organizer, Rumah Karya Indonesia (RKI), has prepared 1,000 tents for the festival's participants.
Besides screenings, there will be film workshops, performances and discussions.
"Lake Toba was chosen because North Sumatra, with its diversity, environment and culture, has a big potential in the film industry. We hope this festival will inspire young people to explore their creativity," RKI chairman Ojax Manalu said on Monday (20/11).
One of the festival's guests will be Tobakustik Band.
Tourism Minister Arief Yahya praised the initiative as an event encouraging visitors to explore the cultures of North Sumatra.
