International Tourism Jamboree to Be Held in West Java
Jakarta. Bandung Institute of Tourism is set to hold the 2017 International Tourism Jamboree at Buru Masigit Kareumbi Park in West Java from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1.
The main themes of the jamboree include sustainable tourism development, the "Wonderful Indonesia" brand, digitalization and connectivity.
"We want young people to not only be aware of the importance of sustainable tourism, but also practice it," Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said in a statement on Wednesday (27/09).
The event will also feature trekking through forests and villages, running races, leadership games and seminars.
A total of 200 students from 33 Indonesian tourism institutions and two overseas universities — the Cavite State University from the Philippines and Universiti Utara Malaysia — will come to Bandung for the event.
