Ministry Promotes Indonesian Tourist Destinations in Saudi Arabia

Jakarta. The Ministry of Tourism held sales missions in Dammam, Riyadh and Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, on Oct. 21-25, to promote Indonesian tourist destinations in the Middle Eastern market.

Indonesia brought four tourism industry players, including tour operators and hotels.

The event featured business to business meetings and a presentation by Visit Indonesia Tourism Office (VITO) country manager Mostafa El Enany.

According to Mohamad Hery Saripudin, Indonesian embassy official in Jeddah, King Salman's visit to Indonesia in March has increased the number of tourist visits from Saudi Arabia.

"The visit of King Salman to Indonesia in early March has been beneficial to Indonesia-Saudi Arabia relations, also in tourism," Mohamed said.

Tourism Minister Arief Yahya expressed hope the event will encourage Indonesian travel communities to explore the Middle Eastern market.
