Jakarta. State-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II has issued a free porter service policy at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport's Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 in Tangerang, Banten, starting on Friday (01/09).

The policy was previously enacted only at Terminal 3, which serves both international and domestic flights.

According to AP II president director Muhammad Awaluddin, the new policy is aimed at making all of the airport's terminals to meet international standards.

Awaluddin said nearly 800 workers will serve as porters at all three terminals.

Angkasa Pura Solusi, a subsidiary of AP II, will later manage the porters' salaries.

Tourism Minister Arief Yahya said Soekarno-Hatta Airport, as a gateway for visitors coming to Indonesia, should serve tourists with world-class hospitality standards.
