Jakarta. Tourism Minister Arief Yahya officially opened Sahid Osing Kemiren Banyuwangi resort in East Java on Saturday (11/11).
In his opening speech, the minister called on that the people of Banyuwangi to increase their professionalism in order to keep up with world-class standards, such those maintained by Sahid Hotels and Resorts.
"To survive competition in the digital age, these homestays must be incorporated into the business network. Sahid Osing must also be ready to face this," Arief said.
He added that tourist arrivals will increase if Banyuwangi's Blimbingsari Airport obtains international states, which he said would hopefully happen by October next year.
In managing and developing the resort, Sahid Osing Kemiren Banyuwangi is cooperating with the local government as the owner.
Sahid Hotels and Resorts president director Hariyadi Sukamdani said tourism has proved to be one of the leading sectors of the economy that contribute to local revenue and that it has also encouraged economic growth in Banyuwangi. This makes Sahid Hotels and Resorts very optimistic about its investment.
The resort, located in Kemiren Tourist Village, brings a modern concept while maintaining the local touch with a beautiful, natural and comfortable village atmosphere.
"The interior design and architecture mirror the typical Osing house, in the resort consisting of 16 villas and 10 rooms in a two-story building. We are providing a unique experience of living like the natives to make an unforgettable impression on the guests," Hariyadi said.
