Jakarta. The Tourism Ministry's Wonderful Indonesia promotional video is now screened at Terminal 1 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten.
The video has earned two awards at the 2017 United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Video Competition.
"This is our appreciation for Indonesian tourism, which gains international awards and makes all Indonesians proud. [State-owned airport operator] Angkasa Pura II decided to screen the video at Terminal 1," Angkasa Pura II president director Muhammad Awaluddin said in a statement on Friday (27/10).
The Wonderful Indonesia clip shows popular tourist destinations — Yogyakarta, Bali, Raja Ampat in West Papua, Sembalun and Gili Trawangan in West Nusa Tenggara, and Wakatobi in Southeast Sulawesi — as well as traditional arts such as batik and Balinese dance.
Tourism Minister Arief Yahya expressed his appreciation of the company's gesture.
"Thank you, Angkasa Pura II, for supporting tourism. This is what we call Indonesia Incorporated. All parties work together to make tourism a leading sector," he said.
