Grab Celebrates Its Drivers, Reaches 104 Cities in Indonesia
Jakarta. Grab held a "Grab for Partners" event at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition in BSD, Tangerang, Banten, on Thursday (14/12) to celebrate expansion to 104 cities, from Aceh to Papua, making it the biggest ride-hailing brand in Indonesia, according to global marketing research firm TNS.
"At Grab we believe that our drivers are at the center of what we do. Their support in providing the best service to Grab customers has made Grab the most used brand in Indonesia. We are very happy to appreciate them with various rewards," Grab Indonesia managing director Ridzki Kramadibrata said.
One of the Grab rewards went to GrabBike driver Rubiyanto, whose main objective upon joining the company was to earn a better income for his family.
"I did not think my efforts will be rewarded with an umrah pilgrimage trip for me and my family. This is still like a dream," he said.
The same sentiment was expressed by GrabCar driver Wahyudin who won a car for his achievements.
The rewards are part of GrabSejahtera program to improve the welfare of the company's partners.
"Today's event demonstrates our commitment to the welfare of our Grab drivers. Currently, Grab drivers in Indonesia have 34 percent higher average revenue than other drivers," said Ridzki in front of more than 10,000 Grab drivers.
Grab provides the widest range of on-demand services in Southeast Asia, and has been downloaded nearly 72 million times. It has more than 2.1 million drivers in seven countries in the region.
