Ciliwung River Floods South Jakarta

More than 320 households in South Jakarta's Rawajati and Pancoran were flooded by the overflowing Ciliwung River on Monday (05/02).

Residents were trying to save their property, many were seen carrying mattresses, pillows and clean clothes.

As of 5 p.m. local time, the water has not receded. In some areas the water level reached 1.5 meters.

Temporary shelters were set up under the Kalibata overpass, at mosques, residential houses and at a hospital.

Other areas that may be flooded on Monday evening are Srengseng Sawah, Pangadegan, Pejaten Timur, Kebon Baru, Bukit Duri in South Jakarta, and Balekambang, Cililitan, Cawang, Bidara Cina and Kampung Melayu in East Jakarta.
