Jakarta residents enjoyed a quality time at green spaces around the Senayan sporting complex on Friday, as the government has earlier granted a long weekend starting from the New Year of the Islamic calendar on Thursday.
While many have left the capital for vacation, some chose to spend time at the city parks, which were relatively quiet due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Holiday-goers arrived in the morning for cycling, jogging, picnicking or simply just for a walk with families or friends.
The city parks near the Bung Karno stadium have been renovated recently to add a recreational facility where residents can have contact with nature in the middle of the capital's skyscrapers.
According to the city government, nearly 163,000 vehicles left Jakarta on Thursday and that helped improved air quality to "moderate".
