Siloam Hospitals Group has opened three drive-through Covid-19 rapid testing sites that allow people with coronavirus-like symptoms to get tested without having to visit the hospital.

One of the facilities is located at the courtyard of Lippo Mall Puri in West Jakarta, which offers the service at 8.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m.

In the paid test, which requires an appointment, a lab technician in protective suit takes a blood sample from the patient who remains in the car.

The sample collection process takes only a few minutes, but the result will come in several hours, to be delivered via the WhatsApp messaging platform on the same day.

Test participants also have the access to free online consultation with general practitioners at Siloam Hospitals.

If the result comes back positive, the patient will be asked to undergo the swab test for a more accurate result. When no virus attack is detected, a second test is needed in a span of a week, believed to be the incubation period of coronavirus.
