Indonesia Open 2018
Indonesia Open, one of the most prestigious badminton tournaments, runs at the Istora Senayan indoor stadium in Jakarta from Tuesday (03/07) to Sunday.
The Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI) has selected 52 shuttlers for the competition, including the country's most favorite mixed doubles pair Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir, who immediately defeated Japan's Yugo Kobayashi and Misaki Matsutomo.
As badminton is one of the most popular sports in the country, the Indonesia Open is an important cultural phenomenon and an event during which excitement runs incredibly high.
This year, 256 world's top players compete in the $1.25-million-prize competition.
The Indonesia Open was upgraded from Super Series Premier to BWF World Tour Super 1000, which makes it equal to China Open and All England Open.
