Indonesia's Biggest Auto Show Returns to Jakarta
The 27th Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show was officially opened by Vice President Jusuf Kalla at the ICE BSD convention center in Serpong, Tangerang, on Thursday. More than 30 new car and motorcycle models are being launched at the event, currently the largest annual auto show in Indonesia.
Exhibitors at the show include big names in the passenger vehicle class, such as Audi, BMW, Daihatsu, Datsun, DFSK, Honda, Hyundai, Isuzu, Lexus, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, MINI, Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan, Renault, Suzuki, Toyota, VW and Wuling.
The non-passenger vehicle show is dominated by FAW, Hino, Isuzu, Mitsubishi Fuso, Tata Motors and UD Trucks.
Honda, Toyota, Daihatsu, Nissan and Renault are also exhibiting their latest concept cars at the show.
Jakarta is the second city this year to host the 2019 GIIAS after Surabaya in March-April. The Jakarta show will run until July 28 and then the exhibition will move on to Makassar and then Medan on Oct. 23-27.
