Indonesia's Champion Hurdler Makes Comeback From Injury
Indonesia's champion hurdler Emilia Nova started training again at the Gelora Bung Karno Sports Arena's Madya Stadium in Jakarta on Friday after months of absence through injury.
The 24-year-old is preparing for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines with her long-time coach, Fitri "Ongky" Haryadi.
Two years ago at the SEA Games in Malaysia, Emil brought home a silver medal in the heptathlon. This year she wants to win the gold medal in her favorite event, the women's 100-meter hurdles.
Jakarta-born Emil's personal best in the individual event is 13.33 seconds, recorded when she finished second after South Korean champion Jung Hye-lim at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta.
