The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Menteng, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday opened a condolence book for Jakartans to express their grief for the death of General Qassem Suleimani, Iran's second most powerful man after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in an airstrike ordered by Donald Trump in Baghdad on Friday.

Tables and chairs were set up in the living room of the embassy. Guests wrote signed messages in a large book placed in front of a photo of Suleimani, who was the commander of the Quds Force, the external wing of Iran's famed Revolutionary Guards.

On both sides of the photo were the Iranian flags and next to it a note where the words "General Suleimani Anti Terrorism" were written.
