Hundreds of Prabowo Subianto's supporters rallied in front of the Constitutional Court in Central Jakarta as the election dispute trial began on Friday.
Prabowo and his running mate Sandiaga Uno have submitted a lawsuit to the court demanding the disqualification of newly re-elected president Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and his running mate Ma'ruf Amin for alleged electoral fraud.
Most of the protesters, who started gathering in front of the Constitutional Court on Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat at six in the morning, were middle-aged people, including a group of women who called themselves "Moms for People's Rule."
They spent more time taking selfies and snaps of each other than giving speeches during their protest.
At around four in the afternoon, the protesters left the court to march to the Arjuna Wiwaha Statue, singing their famous "2019 Ganti Presiden" ("2019 Time to Change President") anthem.
Security was tight around the court and areas around the National Monument, dominated by Police Mobile Brigade officers wearing full anti-riot gear.
