Mount Merapi, Indonesia's most active volcano, erupted early Tuesday morning, sending smoke and ash high into the sky and as far away as Kartasura and Boyolali in Central Java. Tourists camping in the popular tourist spot Bukit Klangon had to be evacuated. The volcano last erupted on Feb. 13. The Indonesian archipelago is located on the Ring of Fire, an area in the basin of the Pacific Ocean where many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur.
