Saudi Arabia's Hajj and Umrah Minister Muhammad Saleh bin Taher Benten has appealed to one million Muslims around the world to postpone their hajj pilgrimage this year, encouraging them to come only when the coronavirus epidemic is under control. Since March, the Saudi authorities have closed the al-Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, where the Kaaba is located, due to the spread of coronavirus. Indonesia was supposed to send 231,000 pilgrims to Mecca and Medina this year, a trip they have had to wait many years for.
