Seba Baduy Ceremony
Members of the Baduy Dalam tribe walking from Ciboleger in Lebak district, Banten, to the offices of the provincial governor in Serang to attend the Seba Baduy ceremony on Saturday (21/04). The ceremony, which takes place after the harvest season every year, serves to maintain a channel of communication between the traditional community and the government. The Baduy consists of two sub-groups – Baduy Dalam (Inner Baduy) and Baduy Luar (Outer Baduy). They resist foreign influences and vigorously preserve their ancient way of life, such as shunning modern forms of transportation. (Antara Photo/Asep Fathulrahman)
