Astra’s Car Sales Up 6.3 Pct in June Thanks to Toyota, Lexus

Jakarta. Business conglomerate Astra International revealed Wednesday that its car sales had increased 6.3 percent in June compared to the previous month.
Astra’s monthly car sales had increased from 41,314 units in May to 43,908 units in June.
Astra reported that Toyota and Lexus were the most popular brands last month. Astra sold 25,652 units of Toyota and Lexus cars in June, followed by Daihatsu (14,967 units) and Isuzu (3,073 units). Astra sold 216 UD Trucks units throughout June. The company had not sold Peugeot since two months ago.
“In June 2024, Astra’s market share in the car industry grew to 60 percent,” Astra’s head of corporate communications Boy Kelana Soebroto said.
However, sales have declined on a year-on-year basis.
The company sold more cars in June 2023, reaching 46,328 units. Astra has also sold 231,792 cars in the first half of this year, down from 277,924 units recorded in the same period in 2023.
