VKTR to Supply First Electric Trucks for Indonesia’s New Capital Nusantara
Jakarta. VKTR Teknologi Mobilitas (VKTR) has received several orders from state-owned enterprises to supply the first electric trucks or compactors for the new capital city, Nusantara (IKN).
“We are pleased to announce that we will be supplying the first electric trucks or compactors for IKN. This marks a significant milestone for VKTR as we gain the trust of state-owned clients, expanding from our previous private sector engagements,” said VKTR President Director Gilarsi W. Setijono on Friday.
Additionally, the company has expanded its order portfolio beyond buses and trucks to include products like forklifts and transporters.
Gilarsi also reported VKTR’s consolidated financials for the first half of 2024, achieving net revenues of Rp 409 billion with asset growth reaching Rp 1.72 trillion during this period.
Despite experiencing a contraction in sales, particularly in the electric vehicle (EV) and parts manufacturing segments, this aligns with the national vehicle sales trend, which saw a 19 percent year-over-year decline, with the commercial vehicle segment dropping by 26 percent year-over-year, according to data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo).
This decline was influenced by external factors such as the political climate and uncertain global macroeconomic conditions, which have significantly impacted financial and banking conditions.
