Prabowo Inaugurates 2,000 New Officers, Calls for Service and Sacrifice

Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto on Wednesday inaugurated over 2,000 newly commissioned officers of the Indonesian Armed Forces and the National Police, urging them to embrace a life of service, loyalty, and sacrifice for the nation.
The inauguration ceremony took place in the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta and marked a symbolic milestone for the young officers who had just taken their oath of allegiance before God and the Indonesian people.
"You have just been inaugurated, and in the name of the nation and the state, I have placed the rank insignia on your shoulders," Prabowo said in his address. "You have declared your willingness to sacrifice your body and soul to defend our country, our nation, and our people."
He stressed that Indonesia’s independence was hard-won through generations of struggle, and the officers must now carry the responsibility of protecting the sovereignty of the nation.
"If we are not strong, we will be crushed by other nations. We will be divided and forced to submit to foreign interests. Your nation demands your highest dedication," the president said.
Prabowo underscored that the Armed Forces and the Police are the state’s ultimate line of defense and guardians of national unity.
"Be the people’s army, the national army, the army of warriors. Be the people’s police, the national police, the police of warriors. Always defend and love your people -- you are the true sons and daughters of the Republic," he said.
The president also expressed his gratitude to the mentors, instructors, and families who supported the officers through their education and formation.
"The profession of an officer is noble but far from easy. You must lead from the front, set an example with courage, discipline, and intelligence. You are the people’s hope. Serve with unwavering dedication," he said.
